The C02 Environment Foundation champions a number of reforestation and agroforestry projects. The Foundation’s innovative 1 pomme pour tous campaign aims to plant 5,000 apple trees on four hectares of land on the grounds around the Oka Abbey, in collaboration with the Centre de recherche agroalimentaire de Mirabel. People across Quebec are encouraged to make a donation to this initiative by adopting a tree. The money raised will go toward tree planting, orchard maintenance and harvesting operations.
The apples grown here over the next 15 years will donated to Breakfast Club of Canada! This will be over and above the generous donations already made by Pommes Qualité Québec, our apple partner since 2008. The CO2 Environnement Foundation and Pommes Qualité Québec will also work with us to package and distribute the fruit of their labours.
We are proud to be associated with a project that will generate a myriad of environmental, social and educational benefits in Quebec, both today and tomorrow.
