For the first time in its history, Breakfast Club of Canada has brought together an elite squad of business professionals from several industries and areas of the country. This Back to School Campaign Cabinet will lend us their combined expertise and name recognition to add clout and credibility the campaign; also sharing relevant connections whenever possible to help us reach our ambitious goal.

Joan is the perfect choice to chair our 2020 Back to School Campaign Cabinet. She is a highly respected (and impeccably stylish) journalist with experience writing, broadcasting, producing, and hosting. Whether on or off screen, Joan knows how to draw attention, and she loves to use that natural magnetism to raise awareness about vital causes. She is already a philanthropist in her own right, with many years of experience working on child nutrition initiatives in Cambodia. We know Joan brings a unique perspective and flair to everything she does, and we can’t wait to utilize her passion and skillset to take this campaign to the next level.
Shelley Mayer

She leads a team of specialists who provide expert execution in all facets of marketing including brand development, advertising, digital marketing, social media outreach, public relations and events. She is also a founding and ongoing Activator with SheEO and is a Futurpreneur Canada mentor.
Gail Nyberg
FORMER EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, DAILY BREAD FOOD BANK

Gail Nyberg is the retired Executive Director of the Daily Bread Food Bank in Toronto, and currently serves as President of the Board for Feed the Need in Durham. Always passionate about her fight against hunger and poverty, Gail served as the first chair of the amalgamated Toronto District School Board, where she was crucial in implementing school food programs. During her time at the TDSB, Gail helped create the Toronto Foundation for Student Success, removing barriers for children and ensuring adequate nourishment to help students reach their full potential. After leaving the TDSB, she continued her activism on behalf of families, seniors and the working poor by joining the Federation of Metro Tenants Association. In 2018, Gail was awarded the Order of Ontario for her work both in breakfast programs and food banks.
Anne Fortin

With more than 25 years of experience in marketing and management, including 8 years in the insurance industry, Anne is currently Senior Vice President, Direct Distribution and Chief Marketing Officer at Intact Financial Corporation. Anne is responsible for leading all Canadian operations for direct to consumer insurance brands, namely belairdirect, Anthony Insurance and National Bank Insurance Auto and Home. She is also responsible for all our national marketing operations, and of driving growth. Anne is proud to be on Breakfast Club of Canada’s Board of Directors, and as well as this campaign cabinet.

A Senior Executive with over 20 years of international experience in the areas of legal and corporate affairs, with skills in strategic planning, corporate legal counsel, change management and team leadership. As General Secretary & General Counsel for Canada, Isabelle leads the team in charge of Legal & Regulatory affairs, Compliance, Governmental Affairs, Sustainable Development & Scientific Affairs, as well as Internal and External communications. Danone is a revolutionary food company, committed to positively changing the world by nourishing people and communities, one better food choice at a time. Isabelle’s community engagement includes sitting on the Board of Directors for Breakfast Club of Canada.
Brett Clapperton

Brett has a background in community investment and corporate communications in the energy industry. In her current role as Director of Community Investment & LBG Canada with SiMPACT Strategy Group, she helps companies develop strong community investment programs and works with them to create meaningful charitable partnerships that address local and global issues. She is passionate bringing together people, companies and charitable organizations to solve complex problems and build more sustainable communities. Before starting her professional career, Brett completed a degree in Classical Studies at McGill University. Surprisingly (or perhaps not), this turned out to be less useful than planned, as opportunities to translate Ancient Greek in the working world have been few and far between!
