Costco Raise $1,620,797 for Children During Breakfast Club of Canada’s Back-to-school Campaign

Boucherville– September 29th, 2021 – Students are heading back to school again, and to help them and their family better prepare for this of a new school year, Costco stepped up for a 14th year. The company joined Breakfast Club of Canada’s annual back-to-school campaign to make sure all kids don’t start they’re on an empty stomach. After the 10 days campaign across the country, a record amount of $1,620,797 were raised thanks to members and employee’s dedication.

Due to the pandemic, the attendance for breakfast programs in Canada recorded between 5% and 100% increase compared to the previous year, depending on the province. “Thanks to partners like Costco, the Club helps Canadian children start their school day on a full stomach, allowing them to focus, learn and grow.  In doing so, Costco is helping kids across Canada reach their fullest potential.” explains Judith Barry, co-Founder, director of Impact and Government Relations at Breakfast Club of Canada.

For 14 years now, Breakfast Club of Canada has been able to count on Costco as a valuable partner. Education and health, especially when it comes to children, are fundamental values for the company and the commitment of the employees in each of the warehouse allows them to offer a large number of breakfasts to Canadian children. “Costco started to be involved in the community in its early years. We are committed in our support of charitable activities in the communities where we operate, particularly with initiatives related to children, in the areas of health, welfare and education, as well as families in need, “said Benoit Louis-Seize, Manager of Benefits and Pension at Costco.
