IT Lead

Founded in 1994, Breakfast Club of Canada is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing services and funding to school breakfast programs across the country. JOB DESCRIPTION

Breakfast Club of Canada is looking for an IT Lead to join the Technology and Operations team. Reporting to the Director of Technology and Operations, the selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing operations related to information technology for the entire organization. They will play a pivotal role in planning, implementing, maintaining and improving Breakfast Club of Canada’s nationwide IT infrastructure and services for staff.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

IT Infrastructure Management

  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of IT management systems and infrastructure (telecommunications, networks, telephony, servers and SaaS).
  • Monitor computer hardware and software licenses, and keep inventories up to date.
  • Manage budgets allocated to the maintenance and partial or total replacement of computer hardware and the purchase of new software licenses.
  • Anticipate future needs and stay abreast of new technologies in order to keep systems up to date and optimize their operation for the benefit of the organization and all employees.

 

IT Services Management

  • Train, mentor and oversee the IT technician in order to achieve the service quality goals established by management.
  • Manage contracts with our external IT service providers and act as a liaison between these providers and our employees.
  • Ensure that IT services provided to employees are of high quality.
  • Analyze trends in service requests and incident reports to develop a management dashboard.
  • Monitor departmental performance to ensure that services provided to clients are of high quality.
  • Help to prepare, implement and update various IT policies, including the data classification policy.

 

Cybersecurity

  • Monitor IT-related risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Advise on information security, data protection and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure that security policies and best practices are being followed and documented so that the organization’s systems and data are protected against potential threats.
  • Apply existing information security policies and procedures to protect the organization’s data and assets from internal and external threats.
  • Actively monitor the various IT threat management tools.
  • Plan and execute phishing simulations with staff and run penetration testing.
  • Participate in external IT audits.
  • Assist the Director of Technology and Operations with integrating technology, as well as with developing and implementing a business continuity plan for the organization.

 

SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science (college diploma in computer science with equivalent experience may be considered).
  • Five or more years of experience in a similar position.
  • Experience in business intelligence and analytics.
  • Experience using Microsoft products (Azure AD, Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365 Business Central).
  • Knowledge of Windows 11.
  • Ability to work with PC hardware, smartphones, printers, etc.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce (CRM software) for non-profits.
  • Fluency in spoken and written French and English, and strong writing skills in both languages.
