Together, let’s celebrate National Indigenous History Month!
Donations received throughout the month of June* will help Breakfast Club of Canada to support programs and projects in Indigenous communities.
Throughout the month of June, The Club will highlight the important work being done by coordinators, volunteers, schools and communities in breakfast programs in Indigenous communities across the country as well as underline the heritage, history and diversity of First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples across Canada.
Fundraising
With the cost of living, food and transportation so high, the Club is committed to continuing its efforts to reaching children in these communities. That is why individual donations received throughout the month of June will be allocated to help continue to support breakfast programs in Indigenous communities across the country.
The Sprott Foundation will double donations raised during the month, up to a maximum of $50,000.
Promoting Indigenous Foods and Cultures
For many years, the Club’s approach has emphasized capacity building and the organization has adapted its role and its practices, taking into account local needs and available resources, including in Indigenous communities, in order to foster local leadership and the development of a sustainable nutrition program. Our goal is to facilitate the establishment of practices that value the food and culinary traditions of Indigenous cultures.
Where your Donations will Make a Difference
The Club has made it a priority to assist Indigenous communities in meeting their distinctive needs. Currently, the Club helps reach over 47,000 children each day in more than 350 programs in Indigenous communities or in public schools where at least 50% of the school population is Indigenous. In addition, in Quebec and in collaboration with the ministère de la Famille, nine breakfast programs are offered in daycares in Indigenous communities, helping reach nearly 270 toddlers each day.
