About the Club

Since 1994, Breakfast Club of Canada has been helping children across the country access a nutritious breakfast in a safe and welcoming environment.

Our dedication to children

We give children a chance to reach their full potential by starting every school day with nutritious food.

A country where all children can access nutritious food at school.

Children’s best interests are at the heart of our intentions, objectives and decisions. We always put children above all.

Our approach is inclusive, collaborative and sustainable. Together, we are part of the community.

We act in accordance with the highest principles of ethics, transparency and accountability. We operate with integrity.

Led by our creativity and our determination, we push our cause further. We think outside the box, and we do it with energy.

Our History

Founded in 1994, the Club des petits déjeuners du Québec established the first school nutrition program at the Lionel-Groulx school (Longueuil, Quebec). To reach children across the country, Breakfast Clubs of Canada was launched in 2006 and the two organizations merged to become Breakfast Club of Canada/Club des petits déjeuners in 2014.

An initiative that started by serving breakfast to hundreds of children in one school now helps reach hundreds of thousands of children in every province and territory across the country.

The Club continues to grow and establish more and more ambitious objectives each year due to the dedication of not only the school teams, volunteers, donors, community and corporate partners and governments but also the staff members, management committee and board of directors who show up every day ready to make a difference in children’s lives.

2023-2026 Strategic Plan

Over the past year, Breakfast Club of Canada completed a strategic planning process spanning the 2023–2026 period. This is a significant milestone for the Club, helping continue its growth and achieve its long-term objectives.

This process, led by our management team with the participation of employees across Canada, resulted in stimulating discussions and interactions. The goal was to define a clear direction for the Club and establish strategic priorities for the coming years to move our mission forward.
