For over 22 years, Daniel has been at the forefront of setting up programs which foster the healthy development of children, working at projects which provide children with an equal opportunity for success. As President and Founder, Daniel works relentlessly to ensure that all children have an equal chance to enjoy a nutritious breakfast on a daily basis.
His personal story is legendary: He grew up in foster homes in Montreal and turned his life around by discovering the joys of volunteering in the Third World in the 80s and early 90s. When he returned to Quebec, his anger for justice brought him to create the Club des petits dejeuners du Québec in 1994. Daniel’s vision was so successful that, in 2005, Club des petits déjeuners du Québec extended its activities across the country, becoming the Breakfast Club of Canada.
As a leading social entrepreneur, Daniel has been recognized at many occasions for his work. Amongst many awards and recognitions, he has been recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal, has been appointed a Member of the Order of Canada and Chevalier de l'Ordre national du Québec, and received the Peace Medal presented by YMCA’s of Quebec for his dedication to youth.
