Thirty Years of Dedication: A Story That Comes to Life Every Day

For 30 years, Danone Canada and Breakfast Club of Canada have shared a common belief: that every child deserves to start the day with a nutritious, balanced breakfast in an environment that allows them to grow, learn and thrive.

But behind our 30 years of partnership are people who care: employees who volunteer their time, who take part in initiatives with their colleagues, and who, year after year, choose to make a difference for the children and families in their communities.

A partnership that brings people together

As a founding partner of the Club since 1996, Danone Canada has contributed to the organization’s mission for three decades now, chiefly through ongoing financial support and donations of nutritious products.

Over the years, more than 30 million servings of yogurt have been donated, including 2.5 million in 2025. Danone Canada has also helped launch 19  new school programs in Indigenous communities.

But Danone’s commitment can’t be measured in servings or dollars alone. It can also be counted in volunteer hours worked, kilometres travelled, challenges overcome and moments spent together.

For more than 17 years, Danone Canada employees have regularly volunteered with the Club. This ongoing involvement has become a real tradition and a source of pride for the teams.

In lending a hand with our programs and taking the time to get involved in the community, employees get to see for themselves the difference they make.

“Seeing the children’s reactions is what motivates me to volunteer for the Club. When we serve their meals, you can tell they’re happy and looking forward to sharing that time with their friends. Breakfast is a nice chance to chat, whether that’s between us volunteers and with the children, or among the children themselves.”

Marilène, Danone employee and Club volunteer for one year now.

“We know that, to start the day off right, you need a nutritious meal. That’s what helps children begin the day with the energy and nutrients they need. I really notice the impact of a good breakfast: when the kids get to school, they’re still a bit sleepy. After they’ve eaten, they’re all smiles, they’re more alert and they have a lot more energy.”

Loris, Danone employee and Club volunteer for one year now.

“I can sum up my experience as a volunteer with one word: smiles. All the volunteers are cheerful and happy to be there, but the children are also smiley because they get to have a nutritious breakfast when they get to school.”

When teams work together

Since 2020, the Feed a Child Challenge has become another important event for Danone Canada employees.

For several weeks, the teams walk, run and bike while raising funds for the Club. The challenge is simple: get together and get moving for a good cause.

And the teams really get into it!

Since the beginning of the challenge, Danoners have raised an impressive $336,088, demonstrating the incredible power of collective action and their shared commitment to helping more children access nutritious breakfasts.

Behind every kilometre, every donation and every hour of volunteer work, there are coworkers cheering each other on and teams coming together.

Thirty years and going strong

In 2026, as Danone Canada marks its 30th anniversary as a founding partner of the Club, we mainly wish to celebrate the human story behind it all.

A story of generosity, solidarity and dedication. A story driven by employees who, for more than 17 years, have chosen to get involved on a regular basis and bring this partnership to life far beyond the company’s walls.

After 30 years, one thing remains clear: when we rally for a cause we care deeply about, every action counts.

Thank you to all Danoners, volunteers and partners who devote their time, energy and heart. It is thanks to your collective efforts that, day after day, we can help give more children a better start so they can learn, grow and thrive.
