Mira-Fey has played a key role at Breakfast Club of Canada since August 2021. As a purchasing and logistics technician, she ensures that the food needed to feed thousands of children arrives at the right place at the right time. She is a deeply compassionate person, a devoted mother to her daughter Lily-Jade, Élisabeth’s partner, and the proud mother of three cats — and now to a newly rescued dog from South Korea. What drives her on a daily basis: paying it forward and maintaining a balance in all areas of her life.

Based in Quebec, Mira-Fey coordinates food purchases for the provincial warehouse and manages logistics with carriers. But her reach extends far beyond the province’s borders — she also oversees donation deliveries from the Club’s strategic partners across Canada, ensuring that every breakfast program receives what it needs.

She’s also deeply involved in improving internal systems and processes. For Mira-Fey, good procurement practices are key to achieving the Club’s mission:

“Without a high-performance system, it would be difficult to pull off our big ideas!”

Putting people first

What motivates her are human relationships. Mira-Fey especially appreciates the bonds she has with her committed and motivated colleagues, all united by a common desire to provide a better start for as many children as possible. She feels proud to be part of a team where collaboration, energy and the desire to make a difference are palpable.

The Club’s mission resonates deeply with her values.

“It’s in my DNA to give back. There’s nothing more precious and gratifying than knowing that my work contributes to children being able to start their day with full bellies.”

Right from the start, she was struck by the team’s spirit of mutual support, an atmosphere that made her want to go above and beyond. She also underscores the inspirational role played by her manager Claudine in her career, whose caring approach and ability to listen enabled her to blossom and give the best of herself in her role.

Building a future together

Over the next few years, Mira-Fey plans to deepen her involvement in the warehouse’s strategic logistics operations. She wants to make a greater contribution to decision-making, put her expertise to good use and continue to develop practices to maximize the Club’s impact nationwide.

For her, working for a cause that helps children is profoundly rewarding. The ability to “pay it forward” every day keeps her motivated — and she credits the Club’s outstanding team for making that experience even more meaningful.

If she had to sum up the Club in three words, it would be: human, warm and full of drive — three words that, unsurprisingly, also describe her perfectly.
