Fighting Food Waste, One Cookie at a Time!

For many years now, Still Good has been deeply committed to two worthy causes.

The first — reducing food waste — is the company’s raison d’être and the personal mission of its co-founder and CEO, Jonathan Rodrigue. Specializing in upcycling, Still Good takes food manufacturing by-products that would otherwise be landfilled and turns them into delicious and nutritious snacks.

The second cause is reducing food insecurity among young people. Still Good does this by making cookies for school programs, such as those supported by Breakfast Club of Canada, out of spent grain from microbreweries.

Partnering with BCC to promote children’s well-being

Still Good is invested in our youth. For several years now, the company has been collaborating with BCC to provide 50,000 cookies per month to schools across Quebec, allowing thousands of children to start their day with the energy they need to learn.

The cookies bring a smile to young faces every morning. Not only are they packed with nutrients and full of flavour, but they also come individually wrapped, making them a convenient choice for all BCC-supported schools.

Regardless of whether programs offer a sit-down breakfast, deliver food to classrooms or provide students with grab-and-go bags, single-serve Still Good cookies are a great option.

What’s more, they’re a wonderful way to expose children to the concept of a circular economy centred around the transformation of food waste. This idea is sure to stay with them as they grow and continue to inspire them as they go out into the world.

Annual fundraiser

As though all this weren’t enough, Still Good also runs an annual campaign to raise funds for BCC.

Every summer since 2021, Still Good has partnered with the province’s 3 Brasseurs restaurants. With the purchase of burgers and fish and chips, a portion of the proceeds is donated toward the production of cookies. These campaigns have resulted in 80,000 cookies donated to Breakfast Club of Canada since their inception. Thank you, Still Good, for making such a difference for children!
