Based in Ontario, the successful candidate will provide support to donors and prospective supporters and will take on some foundation relationships existing outside the province of Quebec.

 

Reporting to the Corporate & Community Giving Lead, the Coordinator will play a vital role in growing the philanthropic support for BCC across Canada. As an energetic self-starter, and by taking a donor-centered approach, this person will work to deliver a top tier experience for prospective and current donors by being the first point of contact for philanthropic inquiries, tracking recognition milestones and ensuring timely and appropriate follow-up by the appropriate member of the National Philanthropy team. Additionally, this person will research appropriate philanthropic opportunities from foundations, and when appropriate, will prepare grant submissions and foundation proposals and reports. The Coordinator will work across BCC departments to develop and maintain internal processes aimed at maximizing revenue from these sources.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Donor Relations:

  • Respond to telephone, email and chat inquiries from donors and prospective supporters and direct any follow up actions to appropriate solicitor.
  • Contribute to the donor experience with thank you letters, impact reports and by supporting donor cultivation, recognition, and stewardship events.
  • Resolve common donor experience issues.
  • Support the Philanthropy team in the preparation of various information materials for donors.
  • Track all donor activity in the database.
  • Provide assistance to community members who wish to support BCC through third-party fundraising activities.
  • Manage select donor accounts.

 

Foundation Funding:

  • Lead ongoing efforts to research grant opportunities and prioritize projects that will maximize funding opportunities with available resources.
  • Create and maintain a calendar of activities to submit and report on existing agreements to maximize renewal opportunities.
  • Oversee the development of grant proposals that comply with application requirements.
  • Act as an escalation point for fundraising colleagues for any requests pertaining to foundation applications and corporate partnerships.
  • Participate in developing donor agreements, campaign proposals, stewardship reports and presentations.
  • Collaborate with various colleagues to ensure all grants and funding agreements are properly coded and posted to the proper fiscal year.

 

Administration:

  • Send banking information to various stakeholders to set up direct deposits.
  • Ensure agreements are signed as indicated in the Signature of Documents Policy.
  • Enter the necessary information (usernames and passwords) in the application and reporting online portal.
  • As requested, coordinate logistics for team meetings, professional development and other team events.
  • As requested, provide administrative support to the National Director of Philanthropy.

 

SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • College diploma or university degree in administration, marketing, development or a related discipline.
  • Two to three years of relevant experience.
  • Proficient in English, written and spoken, French knowledge, an asset.
  • Strong copywriting skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and the ability to learn new applications quickly.
  • Experience with CRM platforms, an asset.
  • Experience with grant research, an asset.
  • Familiarity with the charitable sector, an asset.
  • Must have a valid driver’s licence and have access to a vehicle as some travel may be required, provincially and nationally.
